As immersive technologies reshape how we connect, learn, and create, how do we ensure these new realities are truly inclusive?
Delivered by: XRDI
This masterclass will explore how to build ethical and equitable XR experiences from the ground up — centred on lived experience, community voice, and inclusive design principles.
Led by XRDI (XR Diversity Initiative), the session invites creatives, technologists, and producers to critically examine who is included in XR spaces, whose stories are being told, and what systemic barriers remain.
Through practical insights and reflective discussion, participants will learn how to embed equity into immersive practices, open accessible pathways into XR, and reimagine immersive environments as spaces where all communities can participate, contribute, and thrive.
About XRDI
XRDI — The XR Diversity Initiative is a UK-based organisation dedicated to making immersive technology accessible, inclusive, and equitable. Born from a mission to address underrepresentation in the XR sector, XRDI provides hands-on, practical training and fosters a diverse community of XR practitioners. Their workshops and initiatives empower new and emerging talent by reducing barriers to entry, connecting individuals with industry, and promoting systemic change in how immersive content is created and who gets to create it.
With a focus on skills development and equity, XRDI is helping to shape a more inclusive future for virtual, augmented, and mixed reality, where innovation is driven by a broad spectrum of lived experiences.
