Film has always been a huge part of our work at Nerve Centre. We make, produce and screen films across various projects.
Foyle Film Festival
Established in 1987, Foyle Film Festival is Northern Ireland's only Oscar® and BAFTA-affiliated film festival.
In recent years, Foyle Film Festival has brought acclaimed filmmakers and actors to Derry~Londonderry for the annual festival in November, including Richard E Grant, Danny Boyle, Brendan Gleeson, Julie Christie, Wim Wenders and Stephen Frears.
The festival also delivers screenings and workshops throughout the year, including Reel Lives and educational and outreach screenings.
Foyle Film Festival is funded by the Department for Communities through Northern Ireland Screen and by Derry City and Strabane District Council.

Reel Lives
Reel Lives, a new short programme to showcase different lives on screen, shining a light on alternative, lesser known perspectives, inspiring stories, and people and communities on the margins seeing themselves on the big screen.
With a host of public screenings, festival favourites Cinematic Breakfasts and Dementia Friendly screenings, essential workshops to help support and further development in the film and TV industry, and music events.
This has replaced the Foyle Film Intercultural and Anti-Racism Festival from previous years and happens over March and April.

Light in Motion Short Film Competition
Filmmakers can enter their films under three competition categories: Best Irish Short; Best International Short; and Best Animated Short.
Winners of the Light in Motion Awards qualify for consideration in the Live Action and Animated Short Film categories of the Academy Awards® without needing the standard theatrical run. Foyle Film Festival is also an IMDb Qualifying Festival, granting all eligible film submissions a fast-tracked title page on IMDb.com.
