Shortcut European Film Programme
‘Shortcut — Small Stories, Big Issues’ is a European film education project focused on short films.
Find Out MoreAbout Shortcut
The aim of Shortcut is to increase young viewers’ knowledge of issues through European film works from different, sometimes distant countries and strengthen teachers’ skills in educating through and about film.
The films have been selected thematically to strengthen the competences that today’s youth are faced with in their modern world. The library of curated European short films and animations explore citizenship and personal development themes.
Our Projects
Funded by NI Screen through the Department of Communities' Renewal Programme the Shortcut Renewal Film project has given the opportunity for six different groups of disadvantaged or hard to reach young people to have a voice through film.
The Shortcut website hosts all the 20 European short films and interdisciplinary educational material. Register as a teacher and log in for full access to all the films and resources.
Working closely with an experienced filmmaker each group has made a short film on a topic relevant to their world.
The films are a unique insight to these young people, their worlds and the chance to voice the issues and topics affecting their lives. Below are a few examples.
Little Voices
