Derry~Londonderry
The first stop on our interstellar journey around the solar system was in Derry~Londonderry. The home of the Nerve Centre, we landed for 4 awesome weeks of record breaking space shenanigans in April 2022.
The first stop
Our sculpture trail illuminated Derry~Londonderry's River Foyle for four awesome weeks from April-May 2022. Kicking off with a weekend of epic fun across the city, from smashing a Guinness World Record to hosting some of the U.K's leading STEAM thinkers at the city's Guildhall for a conversation about all things space with designer Oliver Jeffers.
During its time in this legendary city, we hosted an epic events programme which included cycling around the solar system, a bat walk and talk in Bay Road park, sunrise yoga and so much more!
We also showed over 1500 pupils from across NI around the solar system...without ever leaving Earth!
Record breaking space fun
On Saturday 23 April, we smashed the Guinness World Record for the most number of humans gathered together dressed as astronauts.
This cosmic conquest saw 716 of Derry~Londonderry's finest space explorers gather together in Bay Road park. Check out what we got up to with our highlights video.
