Workshop 2

Students will make a movie trailer for an action-adventure film exploring different elements of Ulster-Scots history and identity. Many aspects of this history make for powerful drama whether it is the heroic defence of the walled city in the great Siege of 1688-9, the battles of Antrim and Ballynahinch in 1798, or the American War of Independence and the conflict between settler and native American on the frontier.

Creating a Movie Trailer featuring moments of dramatic action in Ulster-Scots history will provide students with the opportunity to learn skills in film editing, recording voice-over narration, and creating a rich soundtrack of appropriate music and sound effects such as cannon fire and the noise of battle.
