Our Animation Academy is a unique free training programme open to any young person aged 16–19 looking for a pathway into the animation academy.

What's Involved
~ Develop 2D animation skills using Adobe Animate, a powerful software for professional animation production.
~ Get guidance on the entire creative process from storyboarding the concept to achieving the final animation.
~ Explore the principles of character design, background design and other elements essential for creating animated scenes.
~ Collaborate with industry professionals, gaining insights and mentorship.
Industry Professionals
The lead mentor within the academy is Alastair McIlwain — a highly experienced professional with over 50 years’ experience in the animation industry. Alistair has led design and direction for over 40 television series and 17 feature films, with his more notable contributions including TV series Roobarb and feature film Pink Floyd: The Wall.
