Our Visual Effects Academy invites you to immerse yourself in a digital world where imagination comes to life on screen. Explore the exciting world of digital visual effects under the guidance of industry professionals.
Throughout the academy, you will learn to work with NUKE, the industry-standard visual effects software. Discover how creative professionals use these tools to craft impressive visual effects that can take your filmmaking to the next level.
Master the art of modern filmmaking: learn to integrate visual effects from script to screen and gain hands-on skills in NUKE to plan, shoot, and bring your vision to life in post-production.
No experience is required — just a desire to explore how far your creativity and imagination can take you on screen.
Meeting each Saturday starting at 10.30am – 4pm

Whats Involved
Become familiar with NUKE through introductory sessions on basic software navigation, compositing, matte painting, keying, and tracking.
Create a series of short digital effects sequences to explore the core principles of visual effects and discover their potential for your own filmmaking.
Plan and shoot a series of themed film sequences with practical production and visual effects in mind. Use green screen techniques and then apply NUKE to augment your footage, creating more elaborate sequences with visual effects.
What You'll Learn
Gain knowledge of different VFX roles in the industry, both in post-production and on set, and understand how these departments work together.
Learn core skills in NUKE that will enable you to plan for a scheduled film shoot with VFX in mind, and later develop the footage in post-production.
Add new creative work to your portfolio to support applications for university, further education, or work placements.
Connect with other young enthusiasts and have an absolute blast while crafting your own digital effects sequences.
