An evening of queer video work & discussion from Belfast, Cork and beyond
A night of screenings of queer video work from Belfast, Cork and beyond and discussions on collaborative contemporary collecting strategies in partnership with the Northern Ireland Now Project and Cork LGBT+ Archives.
Video work from Belfast & Derry
Project coordinator Elspeth Vischer and cataloguer Stephen Newe will showcase a range of videos that have been collected with LGBTQIA+ participants in Belfast and Derry~Londonderry and will be archived in a new collection within the Digital Film Archive.
Video work from Cork
Cork LGBT+ Archives Director Orla Egan will present a range of short films and discuss the importance of archiving in a local, community-focused way. Orla will be joined by Cork-based filmmaker Carol O'Keeffe who will screen a selection of short film work incorporating themes of queer identity. Emma Bowell will discuss the Community Film Archive being establishing in Cork Community Media Hub and other projects involving the Cork LGBT Archive & Cork Community Television.
Northern Ireland Now
