Presented in partnership with Foyle Film Festival, Ulster University’s Magee Film Society and Nerve Centre, the BFI Film Academy Young Programmers and Ulster University will be presenting this gripping and atmospheric film that showcases the power of Celtic storytelling through horror.

Curated by BFI Film Academy Young Programmers Osian Andrew and Jack Synnott, this 2 hour event is aimed at young filmmakers and film lovers and offers a rare opportunity to experience contemporary Irish-language cinema on the big screen

An Taibhse (The Ghost) is the first ever Irish language horror feature film. Written and directed by John Farrelly, it is set in Ireland in the years after the Great Famine and follows a father and daughter who become winter caretakers at a remote Georgian mansion where a malevolent presence begins to torment them.
