Intercultural & Anti-Racism Education Programme

Intercultural & Anti-Racism Education Programme

The programme takes place from Friday 15 March to Friday 29 March. The objectives of this diverse programme are to broaden children’s and young people’s cultural awareness and promote tolerance across the board.

The primary school programme contains classic Disney films such as Up! and The Princess & the Frog, in addition to the critically acclaimed contemporary release Ralph Breaks the Internet. A two-hour, hands on workshop will also run as part of the primary outreach programme, in which pupils will watch a screening of the seminal film Dumbo and then participate in a workshop which will allow students to recreate scenes from the film like a pro!

The post-primary programme will mark important milestones, such as the 30th anniversary of the first all female crew to compete in the Whitbread Round the World Race and the 50th anniversary of the Apollo Moon landing.

Themes of discrimination and harassment, racism, sexism and homophobia are tackled in the post-primary programme, which includes Green Book, the Best Picture winner at the 2019 Academy Awards. There will also be a screening of the Oscar winning Anne Frank Remembered, which uses previously unreleased archival footage and contemporary interviews to tell the moving story of the Frank family.
