Over the past few months, they have facilitated online courses for teachers as well as creating weekly YouTube tutorials for teachers and parents alike to try with their children. Next on the agenda is Derry City and Strabane District Council’s Virtual Learning Festival, taking place on July 1 and 2.
The Derry City and Strabane Region has recently achieved UNESCO Learning City status and had planned to celebrate with a Learning Festival throughout May 2020. Due to the implications associated with COVID-19, the festival which is funded by North West Regional College, Derry City and Strabane District Council and Ulster University will now take place online. On offer will be a wide range of online learning experiences and activities including information sessions, live presentations, short films and live chats.
Nerve Centre’s Creative Learning Centre will provide bitesize tutorials on building your own iPad animation, creating a timelapse animation, and even how to get the best out of your webcam for Zoom meetings all from the comfort of your own home.
