If you're a highly creative, passionate and energetic person, the Nerve Centre's courses are a great place to start your career in the Creative Industries.
An award-winning creative arts centre, we offer five courses designed to give students a start in the industry, learn from professional mentors, meet people with similar interests and gain an Open Network College Level 3 accreditation.
Starting this September, courses are available in Music Performance, Creative Media, Music Production, Digital Film Production and Digital Fabrication. Each course is led by an industry professional and offers hands-on, practicable experience and advice for starting a career in the Creative Industries.
Whether you fancy yourself as the next Rick Rubin or Mark Ronson, the Music Production course offers students the chance to produce, record, mix, master and release their own music using the state-of-the-art technology at Nerve Centre Studios. No genre is off-limits and the course tutors are always on hand to share guidance and advice from their vast experience in producing music.
If you like to be centre stage, the Music Performance course is for you! Music Performance covers all aspects of bringing your music to life. Bespoke modules deliver everything you'll need to know to become a confident musician; songwriting; recording techniques; and live sound and music for film.
Alumni of Music courses at Nerve Centre, ROE and Susie-Blue, have gone on to play at Glastonbury as well as other venues around the world. If that's not an endorsement we don't know what is!

It's no secret that you have to be a triple - or even quadruple - threat to succeed these days. For an overview of the various Creative Industries, as well as both practical and theory-based knowledge of the digital media skills required for the ever-changing sector, the Creative Media Course is your best bet. Course units cover a range of creative disciplines including filmmaking, sound production, digital imaging and web design.
If you harbour dreams of seeing your name on the big - or small - screen, Film and Television Techniques is a hands-on and technical course where learners acquire the skills and knowledge needed to create high quality TV and film productions, whilst gaining an insight into working in the industry, media law and health and safety.
Bring your ideas to life with the brand new Digital Fabrication course. Topics covered in this exciting new course will include introductions to 2D and 3D design using a range of software platforms, and access to cutting edge fabrication technologies including 3D printers, laser cutters, vinyl cutters and CNC routers.
All of our courses are designed to give you the skills and knowledge you need to succeed in the Creative Industries and many alumni have gone on to achieve international recognition in their chosen fields.
But don't just take it from us - former student Jess Dunlop said: 'Expand your creativity the way I did! All you need is a passion for the arts, whether that be filmmaking, art, design, or even music.'
