We Can Do Better
We Can Do Better is a new artistic intervention with Joe Caslin, co-commissioned by Imperial War Museums, aimed at reimagining Northern Ireland's post-conflict future through street art and augmented reality.
Press ReleaseAbout
Later this spring, you’ll be able to explore a new art installation and immersive AR experience at Downhill House — the iconic National Trust property on the north coast.
Co-curated by artist Joe Caslin and a group of participants known as ‘The Kindred Collective’, the new installation will explore some of the issues affecting young people in Northern Ireland today and is entirely biodegradable so we’ll be leaving Downhill House just as we found it.
Meet Joe Caslin
Joe Caslin is renowned for his large-scale, monochrome pencil sketches on public buildings, addressing themes like cultural identity, same-sex marriage and mental health. His art, created with biodegradable materials, prompts public dialogue without harming structures.
AR Experience
We've partnered with Hamilton Robson to collaborate on the development of an augmented reality app. Expect to experience the participants' stories brought to life through a multi-layered immersive experience.
