We Can Do Better
We Can Do Better was an IWM 14-18 NOW Legacy Fund commission, in partnership with Nerve Centre, aimed at reimagining Northern Ireland’s post-conflict future through street art and augmented reality.
About
Following a nine-month engagement programme with young people born after the 1998 Good Friday Agreement, Downhill House became a canvas for a powerful new art installation.
Co-created by artist Joe Caslin and 'The Kindred Collective', the artwork reflected the pressing societal issues facing young people today.
As the biodegradable installation washed away with the elements, it left no trace — preserving the integrity of the historic site.
AR Experience
The experience was enhanced by an AR app developed in collaboration with Hamilton Robson that seamlessly integrated digital storytelling with the physical artwork.
This innovative technology deepened visitor engagement with the underlying narratives of the project and enabled them to contribute their own stories and perspectives.
