Little Inventors' Build a Car Challenge
Our Creative Learning Centres were proud to partner with Little Inventors again in 2021 for a series of creative challenges for young minds aged 4-16.
About
Little Inventors is a creative education organisation that inspires imagination by taking children’s amazing ideas seriously. With the support of Northern Ireland Screen, Nerve Centre has brought Little Inventors to Northern Ireland to help turn the next generation into the superstar inventors of the future.
This was a fun challenge for teachers to get their class thinking outside the box, or for parents to get their little inventors tinkering away at home over the winter break.
In recent months, fifty-two little inventors from across four schools have taken part in our most recent challenge, the ‘Build a Car’ competition, with the incentive of taking home the top prize – the opportunity to have their invention feature at the Northern Ireland Science Festival.
For Key Stage 1 and 2, the task at hand was to build a self-propelling car from a margarine tub and for Key Stage 3 and 4, the pupils were to design their dream car of the future using 3D software.
