The screening will be followed by a discussion with Anthony Doherty from SmithDehn LLP who have an office based in Derry, who was involved in Navalny on the legal processes involved in film production.

Tony Doherty, is a native of Derry. He works for the U.S law firm SmithDehn LLP. Tony specialises in complex compliance issues for a variety of clients in the U.S, England and Ireland. Tony has worked on multiple documentary series and films, including 100ft Wave, Whitney, Sins of Our Mother, Survivor, Story of Bones, The Chippendales, United Shades of America, Catching Killers, A Ghost Ruined My Life, Fear City, Tiger King 2 and Navalny as well as working on motion pictures including A Bump Along the Way, Borat 2 and American Animals. Tony studied Law at the University of Ulster, Magee and is a practising New York Attorney.
Navalny follows Russia’s former opposition leader, Alexei Navalny, in the wake of his August 2020 Novichok poisoning as he aggressively works to uncover who was behind his assassination attempt in this gripping documentary thriller.

Foyle Film Festival presents... Reel Lives
This event is part of Foyle Film Festival presents Reel Lives, a new short programme aiming to showcase different lives on screen, shining a light on alternative, lesser known perspectives, inspiring stories and people and communities on the margins seeing themselves on the big screen.
Reel Lives will host a series of public screenings, a primary and post primary education programme and some Foyle Film Festival favourites such as Cinematic Breakfasts and Dementia Friendly screenings.
