Nicole Stott — a veteran NASA astronaut, an aquanaut, artist, mother, author, and activist passionate about science, creativity, and sustainability — has a very special mission for you.

One of only ten women to ever undertake a spacewalk, Nicole tells Oliver Jeffers how earthlings need to take more care of the planet and become crewmates, not passengers, of Spaceship Earth.

Join Nicole's special mission over at Our Place in Space

This exciting creative opportunity is the first of seven challenges with future hosts including astronaut Chris Hadfield, writer Neil Gaiman, and Young Woman Engineer of the Year, Ella Podmore.

So, what exactly is Our Place in Space?

Centred around an epic scale model of the solar system designed by the artist Oliver Jeffers with scientist Professor Stephen Smartt and a creative team led by Nerve Centre, Our Place in Space is a three-dimensional sculpture trail, interactive AR app and exciting learning and events programme.

Read more about it, signup to the newsletter and generally be wowed via the Our Place in Space website.

Our Place in Space is one of 10 projects commissioned for the Unboxed: Creativity in the UK 2022.
