Julie (Laure Calamy) goes to great lengths to raise her two children in the countryside while keeping her job in a Parisian luxury hotel. When she finally gets a job interview for a position she had long been hoping for, a national strike breaks out, paralysing the public transport system. The fragile balance that Julie has established is jeopardised. Julie then sets off on a frantic race against time, at the risk of faltering.
Winner of Best Director (Eric Gravel) and Best Actress (Laure Calamy) at 2021 Venice Film Festival.
“Julie is required to constantly shape-shift, running from role to role: mother to maid to marketing exec, and Calamy delivers a performance that is utterly present, physically and emotionally, in the adrenaline-fueled panic in which Julie exists.” — Katie Walsh, The Wrap.
2021. France. Director: Eric Gravel. Cast: Laure Calamy, Anne Suarez, Geneviève Mnich. Duration: 1hr28mins. Cert: TBC.
