Digital Creative Classrooms

Digital Creative Classrooms

The Nerve Centre’s Creative Digital Classrooms project has seen the installation of digital media equipment and suites in 17 special and primary schools across the city.

The project, which was led by the Nerve Centre with support from Ilex and funded by the DSD and DCAL, aimed to support the delivery of Creative Access in the Digital Age – one of the ten major strands of the UK City of Culture 2013 programme and a key element in the digital strategy for 2013.

John Peto, director of education at the Nerve Centre said: 'Changes in how young people learn today will help make them valuable contributors to the modern competitive economy of tomorrow. The Creative Learning Centres are particularly concerned about the importance of how new digital technologies can help develop creativity in our young people and provide support right across the curriculum.'
