Culture Company and Culture NI formed a strategic partnership in late 2012, which saw the Nerve Centre’s Culture NI digital team take responsibility for all City of Culture digital platforms and range of digital projects. the Culture NI team revamped the City of Culture website, established a weekly e-newsletter, competitions and promotions, and put in a place a weekly video news bulletin, as well as producing regular stand alone videos.
 
Through a comprehensive digital strategy, building of relationships with key stakeholders such as Derry City Council, NITB, tourism ireland and cultural organisations across the region, and a host of online campaigns and promotions, Culture NI has helped City of Culture reach up to 500,000 people per week, through social media, a weekly e-newsletter, the City of Culture website and youtube channel. Levels of engagement and interaction have been consistently high.
