BFI Academy Students Enjoy Acting Masterclass with Adrian Dunbar

Renowned actor Adrian Dunbar took time out of his busy filming schedule recently to deliver a masterclass in performance for BFI Academy students at Nerve Belfast.

The star of the hit crime show Line of Duty gave an overview of his long career in film and television, beginning with his debut role in the 1988 Anti-Apartheid film. A World Apart. Adrian provided the BFI Academy students with an insight into the acting challenges involved in a number of key scenes from major Irish films such as The Crying GameThe General and Hear My Song. The different approach to performance between comedy and drama was a key theme.

The film students were given sneak preview of the new short film, Two Angry Men, which tells the story of the attempts by Belfast actor/director James Ellis and writer Sam Thompson (played by Adrian Dunbar) to stage their 1959 play, Over The Bridge, one of the first productions to tackle the religious divide in Northern Ireland.
