Pearl Natasha is the fresh face of music from Derry City, Northern Ireland.
Originally from Zimbabwe, Pearl Natasha describes her music as Diasporan-pop, a fusion of her African heritage and her Irish upbringing. The resulting music echoes the soothing sound of Irish ballads, balanced with the steady rhythms of African songs to bring a unique blend of flavour, sound and life.
With hard hitting lyrics, and thumping rhythms, she is often compared to Jess Glynne, though credits her passion to music to the sounds of her childhood, listening to Dolly Parton and Tracey Chapman in the kitchen whilst her mother cooked dinner.
With her band, she has been lauded for her powerful vocals at live shows, each night entrancing the crowd with her soothing lyricism and gripping performances. With each track Pearl Natasha shares gritty real life tales of displacement and isolation, giving a voice to a generation who are not afraid to face the pain in a world changing faster than they can age.
Pearl Natasha has recently featured in blogs and international radio with her latest single Moved On; including Hotpress, PureMZine, Flirt FM, RTE 2FM, Red FM with Alan Donavan, Dublin City FM, Ocean FN Ireland, Highland Radio, Zifm, Star FM Zimbabwe, YaFM as well as more across Tanzania, ZImbabwe, Ireland and Malawi.
